The State Theatre Preservation Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to preserve and operate the historic 1912 Theatre through a broad array of quality films, performing arts, and education, thereby enriching the cultural life of the local community and surrounding areas.
Right now the Society is in the middle of a fundraising campaign to purchase a Digital Movie Projector. They cost about $125,000. Through fundraising efforts, events, and donations made by wonderful sponsors, the State Theatre Preservation Society is getting closer and closer to making this a success.
On October 29th, the Theatre had a grand opening with a sold-out performance by Berks County country-pop artist Stephanie Grace.
